12th edition of the pitching "I + P Ideas to produce"

Pontevedra hosted the 12th edition of the "I + P Ideas to produce" pitching on November 20 and 21, in which more than a hundred audiovisual professionals from all over Spain participated.

The "I + P Ideas to produce", organized by the Galician Audiovisual Cluster, in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, through the Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (Agadic) and the Igape, and the Pontevedra City Council, connects audiovisual projects in different stages of development with television channels, producers and distributors of first level and aims to promote commercial agreements for the production or sale of new projects.

The holder of Culture and Tourism of the Xunta, Román Rodríguez, closed the 21st in the Pazo da Cultura, the 12th edition of the "I + P Ideas to produce", the first held in Pontevedra. During his speech, the Regional Minister highlighted the usefulness of this day of pitch and personalized meetings towards the promotion and materialization of new Galician film and television projects.

For the Regional Minister, the meeting "I + P Ideas to Produce" is one of the best examples of the collaboration dynamics that the Xunta maintains with the Galego Audiovisual Cluster and that extends to "three axes of activity:" the participation in the construction of the main lines of incentive and promotion of the sector, cooperation in internationalization missions and the design of continuing education activities, "he explained.

In addition, Román Rodríguez took advantage of the forum to announce, in collaboration with the main professional entities of the sector such as the Cluster itself or the Academia Galega do Audiovisual, the Xunta has planned the launch of the Galicia Film Office in order to promote the filming in our Community as a way to increase competitiveness and boost employment in the sector.

On the other hand, the president of the Galego Audiovisual Cluster, Jorge Algora; the director of the Agadic, Jacobo Sutil, and the Councilor for Promotion of Cidade de Pontevedra, Anabel Gulías, were in charge of opening this exhibition of audiovisual projects. The president of the Cluster took the opportunity to thank the contributors of this edition for their commitment to the format.

During his speech, Jacobo Sutil highlighted the positive confluence of this initiative with other actions to support the sector by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in particular, with the annual calls for grants for the development of projects, the promotion of audiovisual talent and the production and co-production of works for film and television.

While Anabel Gulías took the opportunity to encourage producers and directors to shoot in the city of Pontevedra and explained the willingness of the City to attract film shoots to the city.

After the opening session, the people responsible for the 17 projects selected to participate in the Pitching presented, in ten-minute interventions, their work in front of more than twenty audiovisual executives who participated in the "I + P Ideas to produce" in Pontevedra .

In its 12th edition they attended the pitching RTVE, Mediaset Spain, Atresmedia, # 0 of Movistar +, Euskaltel Group and the autonomous CRTVG, TV3, EITB and Radiotelevisión Castilla-La Mancha. This meeting is also attended by leading distributors such as Filmax, A Contracorriente Films or DeAPlaneta, and renowned producers such as Plano a Plano, Arcadia Motion Pictures, Sr Mono or Portocabo.

More than 200 business meetings

The "I + P Ideas to produce" continued in the afternoon with the celebration of more than 200 bilateral meetings where project managers and companies were able to exchange views, expand the information of the work presented in the morning and establish possible commercial contacts . In total, 17 projects were presented, including fiction feature films, documentaries, and television series and miniseries from all over Spain.

On this occasion the "I + P Ideas to Produce" also had the collaboration of the Deputation of Pontevedra, the Filmarket Hub platform, the Pontevedra Film Commission, the Master in Xornalistic and Audiovisual Production (MPXA), the CREA and AGAG associations, Galicia Calidade, and with the sponsorship of the Music Library and Gadisa companies.

The present edition of "I + P Ideas to produce" included the realization, in the afternoon of yesterday, Tuesday, the realization of promotional activities with the aim of enhancing the city of Pontevedra and its surroundings as an ideal setting for the shooting of productions audiovisual films and television. As well as a reception with the mayor of Pontevedra, Miguel Fernández Lores, who accompanied by the councilor of Promotion da Cidade, Anabel Gulías, received the delegation of audiovisual executives who participate in the I + P.
